1. The preferred type of photo for this site is shots of the band in concert or performing. Photos of band members before or after a show are also allowed. However, tabloid photos (for example, Avril Lavigne dawning her new bikini), as hot as they may be, are not allowed. Have a photo of yourself or your friend with a band member that you want to upload? You are welcome to do so, but you must caption the photo, labeling the band member, so that someone who is completely new to the band would be able to see the picture and identify that member as part of the band and your friend as your friend, as much as he’d love to be the drummer.



2. If you do not want your band’s photos published, please use our removal form or send an email with your name and the name of the bands you would like removed to admin AT ajama DOT org. Please send it from an address or include the address of an email that can be responded to so that the email sender’s identity can be confirmed.



3. With all of these other social networks, why use this site? Simple: Quality. Band Pics allows for photos of higher resolution to be uploaded than other sites. There is also more ability to directly share pictures of specific bands with other people and local bands. The privacy preferences on MySpace and Facebook sometimes prevent the actual band from ever seeing the photos you took of them. Since there is very little personal information published on Band Pics, all of the pictures can be shared without privacy being a concern. Any secret data, such as email addresses, are stored within our servers.



4. We urge you not to upload photos from your cell phone because the resolution is so low. If you have an amazing picture that you would like to share with the world, than by all means, upload it, but have discursion when selecting.



5. AJAMA is the parent site that hosts Band Pics. More information is available at AJAMA.org.



6. Unfortunately, non-html/php uploading software has not yet been programmed for this site. However, you can resize/recompress your images locally to increase the upload speed. If you want to do many images quickly, I recommend using Microsoft’s Image Resizer PowerToy, available here:

   WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe
   To use it, install it, select all of the files you would like to upload, right click, and click “Resize Pictures”. Click the “Advanced >>” button, and click custom. Type in 2500 and 2500 into the two boxes. This will size the images down to the size Band Pics uses on the site. Upload the files that have “(Custom)” in front of the file extension (for example, if I were resizing DSC2000.jpg, I would then upload DSC2000 (Custom).jpg).
